I must be a proper old fart but as much as I've tried, I can't get on with mil dot rets. I find the dots a distraction rather than an aid.

I tend to keep my scopes on around 6x and I don't use range finders or any mod cons but then I seldom shoot past 40 ish yards so I guess it's not such an issue.

If I need to take longer shots I'll use my .177 RWS 52 that wears a Luger 3-9x42. Dead basic, no mil dots, IR, PX adjustment, no bells and no whistles.... For those who know the 52, you'll know what I mean.

Cracking shooting by you guys and a very good post

It's going to be good to meet up, I just hope that work or whatever does not screw things up..... As it did last year.

Cheers.

Si and I compared the data that we gathered on the registration and calibration shots to that on CGP

CGP is very, very close but not perfect as it can't take into account all the variables that are present during the test, but by eck' it was ruddy close

not forgetting the mill dots and clicks wont be spot on..theyre built to a 'tolerance' so it'll be rare getting two identical...in thou's of an inch this end..feet at the other lol.and the magnifications are to a 'tolerence'..pellets vary, etc etc etc, too many things to worry about, yu just have to set it up as it is..
