Have had an Escort for a while now and have to say I love it.

Granted it is my first semi auto so no doubt I would think it was shite if I was used to a Benneli or such like.

But as it stands I think it is a superb gun, Easy to clean,, very robust and have had no issues with jamming. Shoot mostly Hull special Pidgeon for everything and it cycles them no probs, same for alphamax 3`s and AAA`s

I have heard the 3 1/2 " guns struggle to cylce light loads but the 3" has no problems for me, down to clay cartridges.

rather than start yet another post on the hatsan, could you not have simply asked in your other hatsan post, seems only you can deciede on the right gun, guns jam sometimes, its not the end of the world, you simply clear the jam and carry on,

you may find a 100 hatsan owners that praise their guns, but you then buy one and it jams, its just luck of the draw, the same could be said with any make gun you buy, big difference is price, Id rather have a cheap throw about gun, that may jam occassionally, to an expensive gun, that I dont want getting dirty

 

I'll combine both your hatsan posts, save filling the whole board up

hi all. i've had my escort for a year and a half and never missed a beat. and a treat it like a tool . give it a clean every no and then and its perfect. i use light loads right up to 50g bbs and cycles them perfect. just the same as a semi auto that costs £1000s atb stevie

I got a chance of one a while back for cheap, 3" Black synthetic, its been bang on really, excuse the pun! Its just used as a spare gun, for the money especially secondhand there for nothing, obviously there not a patch on build quality compared to the benelli, browning, beretta's

Had my mine 8 months now, only down side ive found is as mentioned before the side button to unlock the feed ramp..... but this is so with many other autos,,,,, best i ever had was a Remington 1100 the button on that was part of the feed ramp and as you push a cartridge against the release button the ramp opens,,, much faster to load.. but having said that the Hatsan is 1/3 of the price.

 

I have to shooting mayes that both had Berettas,,,, they now have Hatsans.

As for the "O" ring problem its easy to fix, when cleaning the gun be sure you get all the muck off the mag tub , then on rebuilding the gun soak the ring and tube,, keep the whole lot wet then the muck dont build up and the ring stays good, mines fired about 9,000 shots and the ring is still like new

only down side ive found is as mentioned before the side button to unlock the feed ramp.....

 

 

When I first got mine, I completely stripped it, finding little bits of rust in the nooks and crannies. One thing I noticed was that the side button had a small spring which pressed against the mag tube, a very poor design as the spring seemed to have slipped and got caught up with the mag tube. Any how I put it all back together and the side clip was under tension and I've not had a problem since.

As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for".

 

Well thats not always true.... yes quality comes at a higher price, however I do feel that the Hatsan Escort gives excellent value for money.

I love mine, brilliant semi auto. Yes you can buy better, but as already stated when you pay Hatsan prices you don't have to wrap it up in cotton wool when out in the field.

 

I was nearly put off buying one by a gun dealer (who didn't actually stock them!!)......I read all the reviews going & looked at the pros & cons & costs.....I'm glad I didn't just listen to one persons opinion.

 

They are cheap enough new, but if you look around you can get some real second hand bargains. I only bought new because I was being fussy with the barrel length & style of camo print I wanted.

Every cabinet should house one!

 

Having said all this go out & try one before you buy to make sure it feels & shoots like you want it to.

No point buying something that you are not comfy with when shooting, even if it is a good price.
