Has anyone had any experience hunting highland / mountain goats with dogs in UK or abroad? They look like hefty game, Just wondering if anyone does or has hunted them with dogs before, Thanks, Beddy-Poacher

no challenge for a running dog you can muster them with a collie or kelpie. in high country the billies will sometimes try to nock a dog from a cliff.

I ferk about with them all the time but the dogs broken to sheep and wont under any circumstances chase them.I had a big billy shot last november and in its last gasp for life battered the shit out of my kelpie X.She realised shed met her match and leged it.To be truthfull it would be a messy affair as theyre not at all as easy as deer,theyre a tough bugger and it would be a long drawn out battle I think,but I DONT KNOW AS I NEVER TRIED IT, Theyre as strong as hell and even the bigest bull/lurcher would be draged about a fair bit by them and the owner would not have the stamina to cover the rugged ground at speed to intervene.Just my opinion.

would you reckon theres a difference between the smell of a domestic goat and a ferral goats then DOGS&NATIVES?my dogs are stock broken to all farm animals but I still think youd be threading on dangerous ground leaving your dog get stuck into goats,then walk about a scatty herd of hill sheep runing all over the place.As for an arm chair hunter,Im certainly not that.Been a busy man all over x mass,lol.

If you are on facebook there is a bloke on there goes by the name of Bakyt Karnakbayev ,he got these dogs called Tazi ,they take rams ,hares ,coyote ,wolves ! this list goes on and there is pics to prove .
