DogMagic 461
I feed my dogs a lot of pork. They enjoy it and they are all fit and healthy. I get random lumps of meat and bone off my local butcher for the dogs. If i run out of rabbits i dont hesitate to give them some of the dogs munch and im sure they have had pork before. There all still happy and healthy. I dont see any reason for not feeding them on pork all the time. I prefer to give them rabbits but i wouldnt turn down free piglets! Quote Link to post
albert64 1,882
i was always told never to feed pork to ferrets Quote Link to post
The one 8,522
Same here i was always told no to feed pork to my ferrets ,but try them on a wee bit and see how they get on .I take it they will be still born ?,Because theres something about stillborn animals or is it animals that only life for a short while after birth ?. Irishmac 5
Have been keeping ferrets for almost 30 years now, and fed them a variety of things, including pig meat. They'll love it and strive on it. My favourite food is starlings, our cat is a feline-ninja at killing them, the ferrets love them, just the right size, very little is left, including the small feathers. Don't pass up free ferret grub Quote Link to post
rapidjenky 97
i dont feed raw pork to any of my animals. i know a guy who gets pigs heads from our place and thats all he feeds his dogs, but i just dont. i roast feet and ears every now and then for a treat but thats about it for pork. Ideation 8,216
Too much salt mate thats why. They can't hydrate quick enough and it can f**k their liver/kidneys. Quote Link to post

Thats the disease aspect. If they die shortly after birth i'd want to know why? Just weak or something up? Also depends what they are fed, if its an intensive farm they often feed steroids or hormones to pigs so maybe that could be passed on as well? Quote Link to post

JoeD 24
Too much salt is dangerous for ferrets and pork contains a lot of salt so I would personally say no but I am no expert. Joe Quote Link to post
