What the feck is this all about!! Jesus, we are talking about a book here. Never have i seen a fight over a book.. And to start calling peoples dogs, "which you have never seen" is out of order pal.

 

Its a forum and he's aloud an opinion... Had this said to me before many times on here.. And really nobody gives a shit about being threatened on here. It is far better when it happens face to face. When the hair on your neck stands up, the adrenilin pumps and you know you have to be on your guard... What does this remind me of, oh yea, the topic in question. The feeling when that first hare of the day springs from nowhere and the chase is on.... get a grip lads for feck sake, you ruining my post..

Ok, i write a few silly books. Big deal!

Buy them, don't buy them.? Your choice guys, i have never forced anyone to buy them, or read them.

And no, i do not post about dog work on here.

If i did i would be called a liar, so then i would have to post pics to 'prove' what i did, then i would be called a braggart. So rather than that i just keep quiet and read the things others write about. Whilst some have been on here all afternoon mincing on about my books i have been out with the dogs. It seems that many today find sitting in front of a keyboard much easier than being out in the countryside. Its certainly warmer and drier i'll give you that....

 

Anyway, they're only paper and ink, worry about the more important things in life. Theres people dying of cancer every day, think yourself lucky you only have to worry about my writings.....

Darcy, it is quite easy to get carried away on here, posting and debating... As you know, you say it your self, why they not out there. Well a lot of them never go out, only at the weekend.. I must say however, yesterday i wasted 4 hours walking shit! babys heads, moorland that moved under my feet as there was that much water, and more moorland, what for, feck all but if the land isnt mooched up on you would never know. And just for a brief moment, i did think, what the f**k!!

I'd personally like to see Darcy contribute to the forum in a literary sense..........I don't tink people would class you as a braggart for it Stabs writes regular in EDRD but still posts on here Maybe Darcy could write a quarterly thread.....I for one would look forward to that as would others I dare say.Jonathan Darcy being a member on this site is a big factor in people joining this site I bet especially the younger generation has I bet his books have been a catalyst for some taking up hunting,just as Plummer was all the those years ago.

Saying you'd be branded a braggart and a liar is a fickle excuse..........unless of course its about the books and the ££££££££££££'s

I cant stand people keep putting people down all the time. I made some valid points and all the fella can do is take the piss because I cant spell. shall I not take part in forums due to poor grammer?

He realy did put my back up and I went to far so sorry if I caused any upset to anyone.

Jonny, he will get called, you know it and i know it.... JELOUSY on here is unbelivable... The anoying thing is tho, it would be the ones who clearly know feck all about the subject..

 

And to tell the truth it is about the money as well as the love of the sport for him.. I would love to be able to turn my hobby into cash, who doesnt want to enjoy there work mate...

I personally don't think that stewie was putting Darcy down just questioning the "legend" status......I think stewie made some very valid points

i stand by what i said last time books on hunting only give antis priceless information about how its done and for what??? profit?? status?? to be a "legend"?? he even got slated in edrd for the deer poaching chapter in one book that detailed everything about a night poaching deer :doh: and in one book puts a picture of a pitbull up saying they add fire and power to the lurcher when they are banned :doh: also he never posts on here about his dogs but knocks out books about them, do we have to pay for the privilege to hear about them :hmm: but the one that really does it for me is when he says be careful about putting pictures on here when his books are full of dead foxes and deer :doh: but each to there own and its your money so its your choice and this is just my opinion on a very public matter yes he might be good with a camera and "know his dogs" but he is certainly no legend :thumbs:

 

Theres a big difference between putting together a book of pre ban photographs and hunting tales and coming on a forum and putting up a topic with pics of dead hares, foxes or deer and going "heres some gear I killed pre-ban" If you do the latter and the pics arent pre-ban, it takes a matter of moments for the authorities to check the exif data, find your whereabouts and identity etc from your ip, and determine that you may have committed an illegal act. Darcy books do talk about poaching and pre ban hunting activities, but any antis or police wanting to get convictions which is ultimately their main goal, will focus on the stuff which is going on currently, and this forum is a way of them obtaining this info quickly and easily. If there was no internet they would have to rely on info given to them by grasses and by responding to phonecalls from farmers, keepers and the public. So this is why its no longer a good idea to post pics of anything that can get you into trouble. Plus why make it easy for the scum to do their job? When the ban first came in it wasnt quite so bad, but its been in place for a few years now so they are watching this forum constantly for people posting stuff that clearly wasnt killed a few years ago.

 

Personally I think its a stunning photographical work and something to go back to again and again for years to come and if you arent into looking at pics of running dogs working their quarry dont buy it

I agree 100%......you can't deny the mans love of the sport the quality of his books tells you that I'd just love to see him contribute to the forum has you can't deny Darcy is a "big" name in feildsports.Its such a shame that he feels he can't enrich the site with his experiences.

Yes he will get called but anybody who puts themselves in the public eye has Darcy does by writing and publishing books should be well aware of and be prepared to take.

This site is is really suffering badly lately and I for one think that contributions from people like darcy would do nothing but good for the site
