John darcy i think its time for me to say a few things about my recent comments on this thread ive thought long and hard about what i have said and fully admit its come out wrong and made me look a t

the same way as i did by getting out there and doing it for yourself not dreaming about it while reading books and i was "there" but with my own dogs and doing my own thing i can remember when i br

There have been some very good points made, hopefully all will be taken on board.

Writing a book, taking photo's what ever you do which involves having your name plastered here there and everywhere doesn't make you a better person than the rest, however, sadly some believe they are. But when you do slide into that catagory, you need to be careful in all you do.

Happy New Year folks.

Darcy did used to contribute to the site in its early days, as did a lot of other sensible posters who put up good topics and pics. Sadly most of them have either left the site or decided posting about their current hunting activities is too risky. If you have a look in the photography section he does still contribute with excellent wildlife pics and always willing to help people, I think theres a bit of the green eyed monster going on here?

THE FACT THAT IT IS J DARCY PUBLICATIONS PROBABLY MEANS J DARCY IS RISKING HIS OWN CAPITAL ON HIS BOOKS. DECENT BOOKS & PRINTING OF QUALITY PHOTOGRAPHS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE BUSINESS. INITIAL PRINT RUNS WILL BE OF 1000 IN MOST CASES. THE TRAVELLING & RESEARCH PLUS THE TIME & COST PHOTOGRAPHY TAKES TO DO PROPERLY, ALSO MOUNTS UP. FINANCIALLY WRITING & PUBLISHING ON RISQUE SUBJECTS SUCH AS RUNNING DOGS IS A GAMBLE IN SUCH TIMES AS THESE...ANY MONETARY REWARD FOR J DARCY WILL NOT BE HUGE. PERHAPS WE SHOULD BE ENCOURAGING MORE BOOKS TO BE WRITTEN ABOUT OUR CHOSEN PASSION IN LIFE & IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN DONT BUY IT. SIMPLE

I've seen some of Darcys books, good photos, im not a book reader though so i cant comment on the content of his writings. All i would suggest is that the bloke must have done his fair share of hunting judging by his presence on here, his photos, and the company of the lads and lasses he has kept through the years, some of whom i have had the pleasure of hunting with. If the bloke wants to share his experiences i dont see any harm in that? As long as no one is depicted doing wrong wheres the harm?

As someone said earlier, there may be a bit of a green eyed monster in some posts? :victory:

The book is a good Pictorial on the subject of Coursing.

Im still waiting for an Author to interview the necessary Folk and write a True Book on the subject.

Ie Bloodlines, Feeding and Training methods they used.

Recounting matches, Competitions, days out ect.

Starting from your Merlin and Eve breeding up to what was doing the business feb 14th 2005.

Interview the likes of

Kipper

Moyes

Sankey

Nuttal

Boozer

T Murray

G Ogden

T Howley

J Ford

K Hall

Rowley

Chalkey

ect

There are others too who's names slip my memory.

Some of the Travelling Lads who owned good stock.

Its a Book that needs writing , an indepth Hardback that does the game justice.

About the Men who took the game to another level.

Organised the Comps, days out.

I hope a good Author does his research and the said lads give the interviews and necessary info to get it done.

The Author imo dont need to be a Hunting man , just good at what he does.

Will it ever happen ????????

Probably...
