Just would like to say a few things about this book... What a book it is. I dont think anyone could argue about the quality of the book and the pictures it contains. The interviews are with the right men, and the write ups, short but so informative..

 

One of my favourite parts is where Darcy says. "i dont think that there has ever been a PERFECT coursing photo yet".... Well what is a perfect one.. I have been trying for a long time and i must say that some of the pics in this book look pretty perfect to me...

 

I think its the same with everyone who likes photography. you are always looking for that little bit better, and the last good picture soon fades away as another one takes over..

 

Another part which really made the book, and will touch quite a few coursing lads who know these guys is when Darcy asks Alan sankey if he thinks anyone else deserves a mention..

Alans reply is yes, Tony Howley and Jimmy Ford, founders of the forley cup... He goes on to say whaT they have done for coursing and there unselfish behaviour..Anyone who knows these two guys will know exactly what he means, and why he has said it... Not only are they sound lads but funi as feck as well.. Used to go on regular benders with Tony Howley and he is one funny bloke.. Jimmy was more the workman but these two guys really did have it sorted as to running dogs...

 

My favourite picture in the book is "over the ditch" just shows both the power and determination of both hare and dog...

i wouldnt say that just because he has wrote a few books and "knows his dogs" he is a legend :blink: we could all write a book but most prefer to keep it to themselves :thumbs:

That is few pound for a book but by sounds off it must be worth it

I wouldn't call it a book more of a photo album though they are great photo's.I prefer to "read" a book not look at one

Everybody does jonny, but this tells a story in pictures. And to any coursing man, they will know the feeling and adrenilin rush when they look at each picture... For any man to capture so much in one photograph is quite an achievment. I surpose this is more the man who trys his hand a photography. And i dont think you will find pics like this in any other book, wether it has 200 chapters for you to read, or 4....

I think its more than a few stewie, lol... A footballer who scores a few goals can become a legend, so why take it away from the guy who said it, if thats what he wants, then so be it..

 

You say you could write a book, lol. maybe so, and yes people do keep it to themselves but if books werent wrote, how would you and i and others learn. I used to love reading about dogs, fishing, birds, football, etc when i was a kid,(and still do) it would have been pretty boring without a book or two...

 

Maybe because you werent around in those days, it doesnt give you the feeling it does the people who were there... I am not asking you to like the man, or the book... Hope you wouldnt tell a kid that farther christmas isnt real..Atb ..and all the best for the new year.
