I airbrushed a denim duster in camo and added the plants to it, it worked great. You can mask and spray paint material as long as you don't put it on too thick. Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
nice thread lol..... all the talk of feild craft, well i would say try one out before comenting, in the past i've trapsed up to rabbits as in all but trod on them, trouble was on a bad day well... a feild away. (and yes i've tacken the old pidge out and pee'd on um too...the look on their face was priceles, i dare say the rabbit said the same lol) popped on a ghillie and saw some weird stuff, after settign up for 30-50 yard rabbit pigion and squiz.....only to shoot a blurred image in the scope because its so close lol.... i've even had a blackbird spooked out of the undergrowth head straight up ma-kilt as it were...only to freak out when i lifted the poncho laughing..all said and done though, if your stood there in the open in the rong place you'll stick out like a sore thumb. a couple paces over and crouched and its balrina time for passer byes lol...as they screem the '''ohhh yu fu....ing idjut' and prance about on their toes..oops hehehehe. cost is the main isue, followed by time in on it, i've had mine on pigion neting for near on 4 years odd, no particular special treatment for it other than try and stay out the brambles. if any one comes accros a place that sells in bulk to the public, or at least in large spools of 1, 2, and 3 strand jute(hemp)shout up please.(50 meter is a piddly bit) the dyes are next, dun treally matter what the make is as long as its not boil it salt in funny chemicals that cost more than a new arm lol. next is fireproofing would be nice, put a nakid flame to a hemp ghillie peace, sizzles a second then spontaniously combusts lol....bit of a shitta' ..but, 20 quid plus and usualy you dont want to know about the 'not skin contact' safety badge. the man made string is supose to be quite cheep in bulk but i've long since forgetten its 'trade' name to do a search. theres ways of descenting the hemp ones, but again it eather adds 20' and 40's in cost or it's a secret...or adds to the flamability...or.....or...... i like ghillie's, it's certainly been an exsperience worth the wait to make and well worth the sight when you get it right in them. i sat against a tree for a cig break, dropped my face vail to get acces for the cig of course, sat there puffing away and in bounds a squirrel doing that mad cartoon front poor thing, watched as it got to about three yards away, had another suck on the cig and blew exspecting it to feek out and run, but nope, as i took grip of the gun, cig in mush squinting the smoke, my leather patch...on my glove!,,tut..lol creeked, the squirel inquisitivly looked passed me (at three yards) then trapsed 3 yards odd to get up a short tree to see what the noise was, went up a few feet and looked over the top of me.....another puff on the cig in total disbeleif then started to figure out which part of the blurred image was the squiz....then bammmo blood everywhere! jays rabbits pigions...squiz rook crows n the like al at silly close distances, beleive it or not the main let down seems to be black boots or your eyes.(pinky hands too of course..) and the gun uncovered. gurtwurz 792
Hi Millsy, Im halfway through such a project myself. I have finished the head piece. I did this by taking a DPM jungle hat and stitching some garden netting over it. If I did it again I would use a glue gun as it takes fecking ages as Im shite at sewing. I bought some jute string and olive green dye from Wilkos. Dyed some differing length strips of jute two shades of green and tyed them onto the netting with some natural jute to mix it up a bit. The end result! Im happy with it. Cost me about 9 quid and a few hours in front of the tv tying the jute on. You can buy them on a well known auction site cheap enough now, but Ive always fancied trying to make one myself, and it will match my permissions perfectly! Next job to start on an old jacket! Hope this helps, Mikey. werent you fighting tom baker on doctor who 30 years ago? i'm sure i've seen you before somewhere... nice work mikey, all the best, wurz Quote Link to post

Karpman 44
Confidence cannot be discounted in such situations I think either. Cammo gives a great deal of confidence, But is not always needed. When your feeling confident you move better stronger more positiveand wehen you fail it's sur;ey not the cammo Karpman Quote Link to post
