proper22 5
I give them lots of wood shavings and an old towel ripped in to a few peices Quote Link to post
stubby 175
just dont go to overboard, if you house multiple ferrets, ferts can withstand cold, but heat is a killer, my court houses a mixture of 9 ferts, inside section is filled nest boxes of straw, yet most still choose to sleep outside in boxes, piled on top of each other for body heat, therefore make sure you give them the option on sleeping quarters, just because we think its cold, ferts may not Quote Link to post
The one 8,460
Ive been adding shavings into the nest compartment every other day and theyu have been kicking it out into the run and some times out the hutch altogether ,so i reckon there warm enough Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
My two have a removable draught proof box inside the hutch, hung on the wall of the top floor with the smallest hole I can get away with, with shavings and then stuffed with hay. Sock on bottle and when it gets dark,I put a sheet of 6mm ply up against the front, and I have`nt had a problem with freezing since I started doing it. Quote Link to post
Big Mat 0
Just checked on mine, seen as its warmed up here they've dragged 2 of the blankets out of their nest box and are tucked up in just the coat. Still nice and warm in the box though, they deffinatly know how warm they want to be Quote Link to post
Moe 108
like as been said already ferrets can over heat,i have 9 in one large cage and 7in another they sleep in boxs raised of the floor, with a handfull of shredded paper, and no lid {to stop condensation}and they are in great condition.still have the same bother as most with bottles freezing, just have spares to change over.
