it isnt very often that so much bad advice gets offered in the ferreting section......ultimatly the best way to stop a ferret skulking is to understand them and the way they work..,you can never handl

stick with a snare on the end it works for me every time once he pops out snare him lol, best way is let him smel the other ferret and draw him out or use box a skulker is a pain in the ass i sit back with askuker let him come out even adrink of milk works or a rabit but dont let them think rabbit every time to come out

this is mental..... The guy who posted the thread, states that it is a "JILL" Then goes on to call the ferret "SHE" 5 times....

Then WHIN comes along and calls the ferret "he, him" 4 times... Now whin i know over the years you have had the piss taken out of you for being iliterate and non punctual but come on... you know tha difference bewteen a male and a female... its as if you are blatantly playing on your lack of schooling, lol...

And if you snare it and yank it out then its unlikely to get rid of that annoying skulking habit is it?

years ago old keeper had the best idea if it kept skulking 12 bore never skulked again ,this is true ,best thing put him in shallow holes let him come out and in heel soon learn skulkers can be bred saw it just like some saluks are nervous , some steady as rocks ,got one at moment of scrutchy on here he is getting better he jumps in box bt not the best at times give him to end of season then the big sleep ,see how he gets on

it isnt very often that so much bad advice gets offered in the ferreting section......ultimatly the best way to stop a ferret skulking is to understand them and the way they work..,you can never handle a ferret enough but this may not be the only reason for a ferret to not completley exit the hole...when picking a ferret up dont rush, let the ferret approach your hand and when you do get hold dont simply whip the ferret up into the air, pick it up gently....the ferret obviously wont come out because its either afraid or it may not have finished working..if i were you id simply give it more time, ensure your picking it up properly and get the ferret used to being picked up as part of your daily handling routine...oh,ignore the 12 bore/snare on a stick...its neither helpull or sensible advice....atb

I dangle a rabbit if my boy doesn't want to give up. The snow is really getting on my nerves because those bunnies don't want to come out. I'm sure my fert is giving them what for but they aren't budging. I also give the ferts a ferret treat when putting them in the box that way it's not a battle closing the lid and they are rewarded for doing a good job.
