Gaz_1989 9,539
Rocky is almost 10 months old now (8th July) and standing 24" tts. He has had a few daytime runs on rabbits and is as keen as I could ever hope for. I have taken him out on the lamp just watching at the back end of the season and we I will be giving him a few slips as soon as the season kicks back in. Couple of pictures from last week... Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers pal. Had him out trotting along side my sisters horse last night and then through a field of bullock as part of stock breaking. He is jumping now where he woulnt before so we are getting there slowly. The recall is spot on now 90% of the time he comes to hand and let's me put his collar on without all the messing about and cowering etc. Just the retrieve thats letting him down at the moment but we will get there :-) Gaz Quote Link to post
martnmagik 68
looking well gaz you can tell he is the brother to my bitch. magiks been laid up for just over a week with a gash between her claws (cut through the webbed part) due to some leaving a broken bottle on the footpath through the woods near me but she should be back out and about in the next few days. atb mart Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers mart. Sorry to hear about the foot. How is she doing besides that? Did you get my text after you PMd me your number? Gaz Quote Link to post
martnmagik 68
Cheers mart. Sorry to hear about the foot. How is she doing besides that? Did you get my text after you PMd me your number? Gaz yes mate i did get your number she is doing ok but weve had a step back with the stock training and retreive i was out in the field with some cows on next doors farm doing some dummy retrives and somehow she was cut off on her way back to me by a couple of over curious cows that bullied her a little and now she seems WORRIED to come to hand when called and is jumpy as fcuk around cows but is slowly getting better so fingers crossed we will be back on track shortly Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
You should be able sort that mate from how well she was doing before. How is her retrieve in general? Live to hand with caught bunnys? Rocky won't even chase a tennis ball, lol. Just looks at me like I'm a dick. He will chase a teddy bear or any fluffy toy but retrieve to hand is very hit and miss. Just gonna hope he comes right when we start lamping. Gaz Quote Link to post

Gaz [/quote she is good with live caught rabbits BUT wont bring right to me she will stop and sit 2-3 steps away from me and wait for me to take it from her which i can live with tbh but balls toys etc she wont entertain unless covered in a rabbit skin. maybe this is my fault as right from a pup she was given skins and carcasses to play with/retrieve etc but in general i cant realy ask more from her at 10 months old. rocky will come good mate, dogs as a rule take a tad longer to mature imo and has daves dogs to learn from who seem to to the business Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I could live with that aswell mate. Yeh I think he will come good, I try to get out with Dave and the dogs every Sunday and he is learning more and more all the time. Like you say Shane and Rogue are good dogs and both know there job so fingers Gaz Quote Link to post
