On the wrong place to talk pet stuff. Working dogs should not be pets. I've let people have them for pets and I regret it over and over.

this is my border x lakey bitch

That's a solid lookinmg little bitch, mate. She's a cracker. I came within a poofteenth of buying a border/lakie last month, but was told by a mate not to cos lakies were yappers. Is this true?

I must add this dog wouldn't be worked, it'd be a pet. But I swear by working dogs making the best pets. Assuming they're from good working lines they're always healthy, always trustworthy and people sound and usually dog sound. That's the pet for me.

If that bitch don't work out I'll have her.

Why would you regret it? I've worked hundreds of dogs, I like working dogs as pets cos they make the best pets. Would you feel better if I showed you one of your pups with 4 teeth left, smashed up face and lame at 4 years old or would you like to see one of your pups fit, healthy and loved by a 6 and 7 year old when it's 12?

I don't get the ''only to a working home'' mentality.

As a dogman of many years, I have no problems sending a good working strain to a good home.

Each to their own I spose.

I only ever keep terrier's as close to 12"tts,12lb-14lb and easilly spannable for fox, they can get around most earth's quickly and force the bolt, thats my ideal size, keeping them small and game whilst retaining head size is the biggest challenge for any breeder, atb, wirralman

sounds spot on pal
