scothunter 12,609
gnasher are u saying if you got a dog and basically beat it and mistreated it constantly tormenting it to the point of it going off its head it wouldnt snap and bite? i seriusly doubt that mate.yes there are some dogs who are totally submissive and will roll on thier backs if shouted at,but there a diffrence in that behaviour than actual hands on muistreatment.adog like a human will have a breaking point at which point it will lash back.whether that be cause the dog is in pain or it has had enough and is protecting its self but it will snap if you break its temper. mind you anyone subjecting an animal or a human to such barbarity is clearly a f*****g head case

mushroom 12,981
Without going to deep it is proven (scientificaly) that personality traits are genetic and the attitudes formed throughout life that merge with these genetic traits are what makes the personality in it's entirety. Therefore a geneticaly predisposed dog given the right nurture (attitudes) will not become overtly aggressive. But, that said dog is still genetically predisposed to possess the aggressive traits. They may not show with good training/socialising but they are there and can surface at anytime The same can be said for Humans you just have to look at some of these people who commit murder/fraud for financial gain ie killing their parents so they can get the inheritance. The majority of whom have had the kind of upbringing that would not be expected to produce a greed driven murderer

We have all seen or heard about these dogs who under severe mistreatment by their owners or uneducated children still do not even raise a lip.Whether that is because of the loyalty a dog will show its master or the fact its just not in some dogs to be aggressive none of us know.Ive heard countless stories over the years of dogs being treated badly yet remaining 100 % loyal and trustworthy......obviously we dont know just how far that dog would go before it snapped, maybe it never would.....just as some people will never snap.....i think its just as naive to say that all dogs will bite as it is to say that a dog wont bite. Interesting stuff anyway Edited January 4, 2011 by gnasher16
