ye it all depends on how many people were asked etc i think its impossible to get a true representation of any breed only off your own personal experiences with dogs, for me i dislike collies as out of the few times iv been bitten its usually been a collie, iv spent most my life around bull breeds and only been bitten once by a bitch which had just had pups so that was my fault for pushing my luck.

Nap is nip/bite if anyone goes near it it's food toys anything my bull used to watch him like a hawk he used to get his collar n not let go if he seen he went into a nervous position with his body language that's not just my experience with bull breeds been around them since a kid now 29 n I would trust no other dog before one of them

Like i said in my original post its not the dogs fault, its just sh-t owners, why do people want these type of dogs, i personally cant see the point unless i wanted a guard dog, then i would have a professionally trained dog, but i have f--k all to guard so i dont need one,

either way the responsibility of the dog is on the owner,if you are unlucky enough to have a dog that is aggressive any sort of danger to people or just not wired right, have it pts or contain it,because if it goes wrong its on your head.

Whoever coined the phrase " No bad dogs just bad owners " must have been the most naive,gullible fool ever to own a dog !....I cant believe in todays times people can still believe that ALL bad dogs are products of a bad owner.....

ANYTHING born of nature has the capability to be born good or bad thats just the laws of nature.....you get bad examples of pigeons,bad examples of fish,bad examples of spiders,bad examples of human beings......but wait....its not possible to have a bad example of a dog ...

 

When you get a highly strung breed of dog that is full of energy and tenacious drive and spirit " born bad " you have a dangerous animal IN THE WRONG HANDS....you have a perfectly adaptable and happy dog in the right hands......but when you get the combination of a dog born from the worst of its natural genetic inheritance,from a highly strung breed of dog,with an incompetent owner.....you have a gun in the hands of a child....a gun in the hands of a mature sensible adult is perfectly safe !

 

These attacks are rare because the likelihood of these 3 occurences all at the same time in the same place are rare.....but for me,the one thing that people need to understand and get their heads round is there ARE bad dogs,some dogs are just born bad with the capability to do bad things,whether it ever actually comes to the surface is another matter,usually dictated by the type of owner that particular animal has.

it makes me f****n laugh a woman gets killed by some dog that is nothing like a pit bull and in the same breath pits are being mentioned i feel sorry for the woman and her family but it all come down to personal responsibilty thats whats wrong with this country no one can take the blame for there own actions. and saying pits are dangerous dogs is ONLY right when they are in the wrong hands the amount of true pitbulls that actually attack people will be in the lowest 5% of breeds i guarantee it and when you here of a pitbull attack 90%of them are just mongrels i seen one once that was described as a pit type but was a boxer thhat would have done well in kc shows go figure how does that work i tell you why HEADLINES thats what its about and the most likely dogs to attack people like someone said are these lapdogs collies labs alsations rottys and most bites occur as the dog is a nervous wreck so it shows aggresion and there first instinct is to bite

 

 

I understand what your saying here but the reality is you cant expect one without the other.....dog matching is illegal,yet the reality is the only TRUE american pit bull terrier is the game fighting dogs that make up probably around 5% of the breed wordlwide....and it is this 5% of the breed that are the only apbt,s i would trust !!.....the 95% of the breed you see walking the streets today are not true representatives of the breed as they are not bred from game fighting stock......the further away from the pit you breed these dogs the worse they get.....so in reality,you cant really breed true representatives of the American Pit Bull Terrier breed unless you break the law,which of course none of us do,so personally im happy to see the breed die out in England and only be kept and maintained to its true standards by those countries where dog matching laws dont apply.....better to have some fond memories and a little of something good than bad memories and a lot of rubbish !

i agree that each dog is different and that some dogs have a tendency towards dominance and I mean individual dogs not a breed or type of dog. the dog is a pack animal and acts as the pack dose if there's no structure or discipline then the dog assumes the role of alpha and dose what the hell he like and if he sees a threat as far as he's concerned its job to remove the threat and protect his pack.

 

saying a dog is bad or its got a screw lose is a cop out by the owner if the dog was given the the correct dicipline and boundaries then there would be no problem the only situation where a dog is aggressive due to no fault of the owner is when its a medical condition.
