I use a box when im ferreting as i have the three ferrets out at once but when im walking around with my mates or fishing or even when they go lamping as i dont have a dog the big hob goes in my pocket an he falls asleep after a while ,the hobs will go asleep anywhere where as the jills are harder to take out because there more lively.

The last thing i would want when travelling in a car or whatever is ferrets loose in the motor .. its a silly idea to think any ferret will keep still for even the shortest or journeys .. an accident waiting to happen

i wouldnt do that either but have known people to put them in there pocket when like you say its there land or the permission is fairly close

It's called a sense of humor and is also probably more interesting than 400 replies saying 'I use a box'. Come on is NO ONE intrigued by some bloke taking his ferret lamping?!?!?

i have totally trained mine to sort the gear out for the next day's ferreting.I simply chuck in the hutch all last seasons tangled nets,locators,bateries and get them to test it all and pack it away!So keen are they,they are usually finished packing before teatime!
