hunter1989 91
hi buddy with a springer rifle when you put a silencer on it doesnt make to much of a differents because of the spring thats what makes the noise. bsa supersports are not that loud,i wouldnt buy a silencer the only thing it really does it adds extra weight and length pm zini he has had a fair few springers with silencers on atb steve Quote Link to post

rossi_j 99
If you find the noise is a problem look at getting a silencer and possibly a little tuning to reduce twang (iv heard this helps). Just see how you get on, you may find its not to mutch of a problem, it depends on the individual situation realy. .atb. .ste. Quote Link to post

davyt63 1,845
hi buddy if you are going rabbit shooting, then i would say don't bother, just yet see how you get on!! and i will tell you the reason why? whether you hit a rabbit with a PCP or a springer, they still run off.not from the noise of the twang!! but the noise of the THWACK!!!!!!!!!!! right in the Bunny's skull. this is the sound that makes em run off,i used to shoot a AATX200HC .22 with no silencer.and always bagged Bunny's,it also depends on how long you want to wait after ,you have just scared them all away but as Steve said some of the noise is right by ya ear the rifle's recoil!!!! but let us all know how it goes regards Davy Quote Link to post
hyperion 122
im with davy! no need for a silencer on a spring gun at all! if you stand down range of a springer ( i wouldnt recomend you do by the way) you will find they are a lot quieter than you think, they dont have much in the way of a muzzle blast and most of the noise goes out to the sides not forward of the muzzle! i shot a supersport for years with no silencer and never had any worries with it, when ever ive put one on a spring gun it just messes up the balance and accuracy! good field craft and hours of practice will put more in the bag for you than any silencer! good luck cheers Hyperion Quote Link to post
