ReggieCuz 18
could you post a pic of a ACD x EBT? I owned my two ACD/Bullies years ago before digital cameras, mate lol. I have some pics somewhere but they're on paper, old fashioned stuff. I'll see if I can hunt them up and take a pic of them and post them here. My two were predominantly white but blotchy blue specks all over them. Big heads, erect ears, muscular but agile. They looked just like heaps of other ACD/EBT crosses I've seen. In fact they were the pigging dog of choice in the eighties, ever sucker had at least one in their pack. As for the ACD being headstrong, yes they can be if left to get bored. But they are happiest when working and will do anything you ask of them. I remember my bitch once followed me over a 10 metre cliff into a big lake. (I was messing about diving with me mates). She just followed me over the edge as I jumped out into the void. I didn't expect her to do it again, but she did. She was a ripper, loyal as hell and very very smart. RIP Dyke. Quote Link to post

bunnys 1,228
Just wondering has anybody any experience of using these dogs in lurchers I know we've got the border and beardie collies and no need to introduce other breeds into our lurchers but I'm bored and just thought I'd put this up. I've done a little research and this line caught my attention......................."Athletic, loyal and filled with a desire to work a long day, the breed excels in any "job" as long as enthusiasm and praise is a part of the task." John theres pickardy crosses allready outthere mixed abilitys , like any other lurchers .i believe penny taylor has or had one . all the best folks bunnys. Quote Link to post
fielder 18
I've always thought an australian cattle dog would be good to put over a greyhound for a nice lurcher. I've used pure ACDs in Oz on pigs and have also owned some nice ACD cross English bull terriers. They are a strong, working dog that have no fear and will work all day in the worst conditions. I've never seen one in England, anyone here seen them? This one isn't mine, but it's a typical specimen. You get them in red as well as blue, they're also known as blue and red heelers. You are right, the right pup reared, trained and entered right makes a very useful dog, with trainability, loyalty, tough feet and protectiveness. Quote Link to post

ReggieCuz 18
@ warrigal, that bottom pic makes me feel homesick, mate. Could only be one country on earth, the magical land of Oz. Quote Link to post
Magpie 102
Yea Skycat's other half own's 2 that are Picardy bred A chap not far from me bred them and he also put's his own line of Beardie type's into the mix aswell Correct me if I'm wrong , but didn't Mr Tredwell start his line with a Remus half cross? (Muirhead bred Beardie owned by the Hancocks). He states that the Picardy or Berger de picardie was the ancestor for the modern working Beardie. Personally I'd like to know what information he has to base that opinion on. I have nothing against either the man, who I do not know personally, or his Picardys. I just find the idea of the picardy having anything to do with the Bearded Collie a little absurd. I have never found any info that corroborates his claim. I am as ever open to correction if anyone has any solid information to back the theory up. Quote Link to post
