langouroux 14
Hello boys and girls, To cut a long story short...I cant hit sweet FA with a shotgun! Mainly because I have always shot rifles and I habit of pointing and aiming and not swinging through! I have a 12G Baikal which has had less than 500 Cart's through it, and I want to swap to a semi auto, mainly because I will then have 1 trigger, 1 barrel, less recoil and hopefully more chance of actually hitting the odd pigeon for my supper! Does anyone know if this gun is any good? http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/101027122956302 Or should I just go for a second hand Beretta for the £300 quid mark and be done? Cheers Edited December 19, 2010 by langouroux Quote Link to post
TGEvans 4
Nothing wrong with the Franchi's at all! I know a few people that swear by them. My fave semi auto's though are the Beretta 303's and the Beretta Teknys. Browning do some really good ones too that go for around the 3-400 mark. Browning B and A500 ( Think thats the correct models). If your going to use it for wildfowling at some point you dont want to be spendind big bucks if your going to be by the salt all day either! Good luck, Tim. Quote Link to post

RicW 67
Join a clay club. I'm a rifleman from way back. The gun-handling skills are very different. Worth learning tho! Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
having less recoil has 'owt to do with accuracy, it's a shotgun, not a rifle, the autos are very good at reducing the recoil for a faster follow up shot, but properly handled an O/U is every bit as accurate or well shot as an auto, take a look at the benellis if you can find a second hand one, very good simple actions, lighter than gas operated guns plus there's much less to clean. having said that, a lot in shooting is confidence, so if you're confident in your equipment thenn you stand a much better chance of perfoming! marlin vs 7
Go for a cheap Beretta in 300 series, they are a workhorse and very reliable. Quote Link to post
