littletimmy 71
Is there any part of this contry above 0 without snow? I come home thursday after not been able to do any lamping for 3 months looking forward to getting out there atleast 10 times before i go back the barracks. Friday morning i wake up and the country is white :\ Ferreting and digging just don't cut it. I need to do some lamping. Snow, you are invited to f**k off Quote Link to post
COSH 14
I have found myself in a very similar situation to yourself, been very busy with the terriers and ferrets. Here we have had snow for over a month, but it did ease off last week allowing access to some hill ground that was previously inaccesible even with the quad bikes. Im out daytime with the longdogs and a bushing team, but only if the snow is soft enough, as it has been frozen a lot, and this damages the dogs legs. I may travel somewhere soon, perhaps down south to get some good hunting in with the dogs in snow-free conditions. Quote Link to post

HALTY LAD 92
Its worse down south..... There are woods, forests etc that can still be worked... . Ive not long been back from Argentina, and didnt expect such hard weather so early... a couple of years ago this was still autumn-like weather! I should think il be doing a fair bit of mooching about this Island and taking myself where the running is good. I was near the Scotish border last night in temperatures of -11. But il be back in East Sussex and Kent next week, so I hope its thawed out a bit by then Quote Link to post

Cheers, and good hunting! After this post im heading out hunting with a friend, like I have been every day without fail since ariving back in the UK although this venue is Northern, snow covered, rough and much more difficult ground than that we have been on in the past few days. Were hunting some low ground surrounded by fells, and hoping to find animals that have moved off the higher ground. Good thing is the snow is soft enough for the dogs, and not too deep so we should be able to cover some ground. We tend to hunt in the style of small drives or stalking, and its essential we produce some good meat. Quote Link to post
