gnasher16 30,220
Just clocked these......cant see Halfords selling them if there illegal http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_213161_langId_-1_categoryId_202001#dtab
higgins 75
just got myself some chains, they are not illegal if you use them when stuck, apparently you need at least six inches of snow on the road but as long as your struggling and can't see tarmac or black on the road you'd be fine as long as you took them off when the road is clear. It's somethbing to do with damaging the surface of the road.in uk they are not law yet,but if you crossed the water and head for Switzerland,Austria etc;(not sure about France,Spain etc;)then border control won't let you through unless your carrying them along with other compulsory safety gear(Hi Viz jackets etc;), Higgbins. gav22 24
just make sure ya dont drive on tarmac with them cos they heat up and the chain can nip and tear the whole panel of the car
