There's nothing wrong with preparing for the future and hoping for the best from your dog but it is still too young to bred and by the way the post was started it did look like you're planning on studding him. "Free stud" really does mean free and is used to prove the dog can produce good offspring. I have a pup I'm hoping the best for and have a stud that will hopefully still be around when everything is ready but the future is a long way away and plenty can hapen in between. We all want the best for our dogs I think. Enjoy your dog.

i have a male whippet called snipe who is 13 month old, he has exeled all my expectations his first season and i dont doubt he will in the summer when it comes to ferreting. he dus have a yap when running but that is due to the previous owner entering him too early. his retrieve is coming on ( he will now play fetch with tennisball) so he is a good dog and is working well. i am wanting to stud him and am offering stud for free but should it take and a littter be born i would want a pup...... what do you all think of the idea and any advice or anything you wish to comment is welcome just try keep it serious ( i no what its like on here hahahah)

:icon_redface: my saluki match dogs need some new blood in them as i keep getting arrested down linconshire,nd carnt run hares any more,so this cross would make yapping none retrieving run into the distance nd never come back dogs which i could make loads of money off cos they would always need replacing, they would make brill ferreting dogs,as they would run off nd never make a sound, pups would be £7000 each, which you would pay half as the stud fee must paid to my ego..atb ;)

Are you waiting for summer ferreting because its to cold for you or the dog now,or os it because baby rabbits are easier for the dog to catch?.

I think it's a pride thing, wanting a pup out of your own dog.

I am the same, my pup is only 14 weeks and I have already started thinking about what kind of bitch I want to put him over to get a pup out of.

But in reality it will be when he's had 3 seasons or so and has proved he's got something worth keeping hold of.

Gaz

hello gaz. as you no mate i have a litter sister to your pup and i thought about this the other day lol was thinking along the beddy/whippet line to take a little of the height out but this is just my preference for what i will be working. how is the training going mate? hope its getting there atb mart
