SHANDED.. you say you want to see pics of dogs that look like the old stuff, but the pics that i have seen on this thread have shown dogs of similar breeding (all going back to minshaw stuff) yet some look completley different dogs.

i know little about minshaw dogs and just looking at the pics people have posted, i would never tell that they have similar blood

good thread keep it up

I agree mate. Maybe i should have put at the beginning of the thread (HAS ANYONE BRED MINSHAW DOGS IN THE LAST 10YEARS THAT RESEMBLE SOME OF THE OLD DOGS LIKE RAMBO,TRAVELLER,BLUE)??

This is a picture of RAMBO AN TRAVELLER. .post-53981-0-33849300-1292876763_thumb.jpgpost-53981-0-31692200-1292876849_thumb.jpg

I've missed most of this thread out, but you are saying Hern you don't want anything to do with dog thieves yet I gather from the thread you keep minshaw lurchers so even though you haven't met him yo

Evidently not as full of shit as you with your less than 1/4 minshaw what is more like the old stuff than the old stuff

Not that the post concerned you....He asks the same question over and over     Your pups are fine looking pups, but probably have less than 1/4 of the original "old stuff" in them but your saying

the pup is a belter and i can see the resemblence in the old dogs, some of them look very similar, and when GINNY SPINNER put some pics up some of the dogs looked completley different dogs to the pics you put up pal (shape size, build etc),

how many pups did actucally thrown the old stuff

What are you bothered for?? They are just a brand. . :whistling:

i was only asking because yous keep going on about this old style

I think you may've been a very young lad when the "original" Minshaws were running rocky and maybe they don't hold as much symbolism to you as they do to these lads and others, myself included.I remember when I was a youngster not long into the lurcher game these dogs traveller, rambo and blue etc were the stuff of legend taking vast amounts of game regulary, and for that you've got to take your hat off to Vic,Joe,Andy and the rest of the lads who started this Minshaw line and are now striving to keep it as near to the old type as possible.

But you are right on one thing rocky they are just lurchers but minshaw "type" lurchers

One thing is for sure ,iwill admit,Traveller was not the best fox dog i have seen,or owned .The best dogs i seen take fox where over in the Emerald island, these dogs would turn them once and pull without the slightest hesitation,I also owned a three quarter greyhound Bedlington ,called sally, which i bought off a lad from Belper in Derbyshire, and she was the buisness on them ,but lacked stamina to run the way i wanted her,but another cracking dog i bought off a farmer in Spalding Lincolnshire, was a second cross Collie ,Greyhound------he was good ,but i moved him on because his tail always stuck up in the air,and he had a terrible arsehole on him :icon_redface:

i agree mate ,very good in their times ,and its good 2 see trying 2 get the old lines back just heard lot,s of people slag the breed ,as they not what they say on the tin,if these are the last of the old stuff and a very well done for them lads behind the seens

I,ts easy to put a pit over a pure greyhound, and call it a lurcher ,but there is no past hunting history with either dog,the greyhound may of been a coursing breed or track dog,the pit a champion fighter, but what these dogs of mine have is good working pedigree(without the papers)which is known ,and kept going by a few of us.

Spot on mate  ,this is a family tree of a dog i currently have and this goes back to Rag Lad owned by Vic's father way back in the late 1960's,there are one or two "unknown" in amongst but still not too bad considering we are talking lurcher's here, and for 40 years plus :icon_redface:

SHanded, there is plenty dogs around with a hell of lot more of the original blood in them than the pups you got at the moment.

Am NOT disputing that. I have NOT claimed that these pups have got the most MINSHAW in them. All i have claimed is that the pup in the picture has thrown to a couple of the old dogs i have shown you. Do you disagree HERN??. If there is dogs out there with more of the original blood then surely there must have been dogs of a similar stamp to RAMBO, TRAVELLER, BLUE. An thats what this thread is about. .

SHanded to absolutly honest with you apart from the pups being thick set I find it hard to see the resemblance your talking about.

Whats your opinion of these two dogs do they have any resemblance to the minshaw type you talk of?
