Guest Lurchers2006
Alright lads heres a question, Do ye prefer just digging dogs or dogs that will hunt aswell? I know sometimes there can be problems with dogs going to ground in covers but what fun can be had with a few lads and good hunting terriers pushing out foxes to the lurchers and digging aswell. My two dogs wont hunt (Probably because my mate reared them for me when i didnt have room and nothing was done with them) which is a pity but can be dug to every time. So what do ye prefer? So what do ye prefer? i think a terrier should go to ground and be able to hunt, and not go to ground unless told to do so. in my case my terrier wouldnt go to ground but shes a brilliant hunting dog. never have to worry about her going to ground. dont worry "die~hards" she has been spayed Quote Link to post
Guest Lurchers2006
My 2 are bred from 100% digging dogs and no matter how hard you tried they can not be stopped from going to ground they are walked on leads to holes, they would be no use for hunting, Edited January 7, 2007 by Lurchers2006 Quote Link to post
vinnie 3
if you want to go hunting you get a pack of hounds/ if you want to go digging you get a terrier Quote Link to post
Kane 2
Hunting up bushing etc with terriers is always a good way to increase the bag.......would never keep a terrier that wouldnt work to ground.....wasnt that long a go packs would let terriers run with hounds. As for having a terrier that wont go to ground without being told LOL ,its heart cant be in it. Quote Link to post

toothless 1
if you want to go hunting you get a pack of hounds/ if you want to go digging you get a terrier no: bits u go bushin in r too small for a pack of hounds, and trriers canmove underneath gorse where a hound will struggle! and its no problem finding terriers to hunt well and follow a line and pushs a fox to ground. As for having a terrier that wont go to ground without being told LOL ,its heart cant be in it. well said Quote Link to post
