ohiolongarm 2
my jack russell is 8months old he is outside from 7 in the morn til 10 at night am i being to soft letting him sleep inside at night or is this the best thing to do and where does your dog sleep inside or out?? My dogs do sleep outside in their kennel, inside the kennel are draft proof sleeping quarters. Inside the sleeping quarters each dog has a heated Lectro kennel mat. This mat is made of hard plastic and the cord is chew proof wrapped in a steel cable.Terrier size mat is 12.5 x18 in the mat only warms up to 102 degrees a dogs normal body temperature.I place a soft piece of burlap on top of the mat, talk about dogs being toasty.Last night we had below zero wind chill in Northern Ohio along with 20 inches of snow.No stress on dogs, less food to keep em fit and no bugs or mold as would be found in straw and other organic beddings.I keep em as I would want to be kept. Rugersrob 38
ive got 2 in as where i used to live i had no room for a kennel and one in a kennel as its all she knows... to be honest i wish they all were in a kennel so much easier, but i then wouldnt have a patrol dog roaming the house or even better a baby sitter as when baby wakes up they rush in and be idiots and all you can here is baby giggling. Reddog83 4
I have 2 in kennel and a pup in the house but with the snow on way I bought a bed for kitchen and took them for a valet I'll put 1 at ma mams with ma other dog and have ma pup and 1 dog in kitchenat night Lol there on the kitchen floor now panting not used to the warm I think it helps to have them outside so [bANNED TEXT] u are out all day digging in rain hail and snow there not cold and shivering and are hard to it as long as there is no draft in the sleepig box it's all good Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
Out.. Though with good kenneling and bedding. Though my dogs are house trained and very good inside, I'm not one for doggy smells inside the house, plus, on the wierd side, i'm allegic to dogs!!! I do enjoy them inside though but at this time of year I find it harsh putting them back out, so what they don't know, they don't miss. Quote Link to post
