Pigeon Controller 1
I've used bought purse nets for some years and last week my mate borowed the ferrets to take his brother out. When he came back he said that some of my nest were wrongly strung and would not purse properly. I've made 25 nets myself this year and he said that they were correct in that the draw string was not fixed at the bottom ring just passed through this allowed it to close properly. does this realy matter or is there a right or wrong way to fix the draw cord? The one 8,483
I think its down to personal prefrence when im threading up nets i fix it to the bottom ring then start from there then threw the peg knot the drawcard then melt the ends together incase the knot ever comes out Quote Link to post
THE GRIFF 8
I have nets done both ways and they all work, but the ones fixed at one end I find easier to fold up and put away, they also tend to be easier to get pursed rabbits out of and are easier to untangle. If they arent fixed, I also find the cord often pulls round and the peg isnt sat where it should be, it only takes seconds to pull it right, but if they are fixed its one less thing to do when setting nets. albert64 1,882
it does'nt make any difference wether its tied to the end ring or running through it as long as its running through the meshes properly it'll purse Quote Link to post

PETEWINN 5
Personal preference, same as material and size of nets. Quote Link to post
terrierjohn 49
i prefer to set the cord tight to the bottom ring this insures only the top ring pulls down when the rabbit hits causing a faster purse and less escapees Quote Link to post
