bullyson 2,023
Very nice....did you use hard blood whippet? hi stabs, what do u mean by hard blood whippet? never heard that before! Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
As in non-pedigree stuff.....ie a little bit (or more!) of grey. I was trying a similar cross myself a few years back and I was using a hardblood whippet, which was actually 7/8 grey  Quote Link to post
bullyson 2,023
no i used laguna/lord of the knight stuff, maybe not as fast as the non pedigree stuff but they have good stamina, superp noses and still enough pace to outrun any quarry, how did your cross do? hopefully rage will be fast enough i know her sister who is as racy as any whippet will, send some pics soon Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
My cross didn't happen mate. Tried three times but the sire was a jaffa We had all sorts of bother with the bull bitch too as she wasn't too friendly to the dog. Tried with another good dog too, but she wasn't having it. She'd let my old neutered bull terrier hump her all day long, but when it came to standing for something else, it got a little emotional at times. I guess she just didn't like being unfaithful I was doing it the wrong way around if you know what I mean....bull bitch to whippet dog. I was expecting a few odd looking buggers in the litter. Yours looks to have come out nice. Quote Link to post

Stabs 3
It's usually the other way around mate....small dog to larger bitch ie. Bedlington dog x grey bitch etc. I only tried it this way as I had a little bitch worth breeding off in my opinion. Quote Link to post

Bedlington dog x grey bitch etc.I only tried it this way as I had a little bitch worth breeding off in my opinion. the reason i put the whippet dog over the bitch was that i thought id get some racy pups which i did (3) one for myself a nice 18" black and white bitch a brindle who went down to a hunt in conway and a black that went up to the n.east, the rest were like [bANNED TEXT] normal bullx, as far as i can remember there was only 1 that came really bull type, i could have used my bull dog over the bitch but they would have came too strong. Stabs 3
Couldn't tell you mate. I spoke to a lot of people about using a bigger dog over a smaller bitch and I met with a range of opinions from "don't do it" to "it doesn't make any difference" The consensus of opinion from the people who I respected was along the lines of do it...but the litter/pups might be small in line with the bitch.
