Harris Bi-pods

Hi all,

 

Are genuine Harris bi-pods worth the money versus the Chinese copies available on Fleabay?

 

I don't mind the extra cost if they are worth the difference.

Chinese ones are crap, don't do it. My other suggestion is look at a versa-pod much better than Harris for many reaons IMO

Use a Edgar Bros one meself,a couple of quid cheaper than the Harris but solidly built & no different from the Harris (IMO)

I have 2 Harris' now, did have a cheapy which was ok but once you've had a Harris you'll expect everything to be so solid. I gather the EB and Versa-pod ones are pretty good too though but I would avoid the chinese too-cheap-to-be-true ones. Although having said that, this one gets good reviews.

Get yourself a extendable hand held one (25 quid ) you can shoot from most positions. Had a harris one on my last 17 hmr , just bought a new one and got a X3M1 bipod great bit of kit

if one is just messing around you can get by with the cheap knockoffs, or even the caldwell and rock mount "harris styled" bipods.

 

for any serious shooting, hunting or competition, i'd go with the harris.

 

the harris has better tension in the springs, more reliable positive extraction / collapsing of the legs, smoother operation in the swivel models, and better finish for looks.

couldnt agree more , an old boy told me about buying tools ( a poor craftman only buys the best because they will last a lifetime)
