chimp 299 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Share Posted December 12, 2010 dont know if any of you guys are clued up regarding chainsaws but i got a problem with one. its a mcculloch and stripped the carb and replaced the filter in the tank and checked the plug but problem is still there , it was will only fire up occasionaly and when it does only for a few seconds. any ideas? harrycatcat 31 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Share Posted December 12, 2010 I had a very similar problem with a McCulloch last year, intermittent spark, turned out to be the coil I think it was.Chap off another site who lives near me identified it and as it was so old/model could not get proper bits could modify a newer one but I think it was about £38.
