fieldsman 51
I bought a pup approximately 5 months ago she,s now almost 7 months old .I,v been informed that a sister of this bitch has come into season ,she comes from very good lines not that it makes any difference to the subject in hand but it does mean that if this was a trait in the breeding of the sire or dam, considering where most of these dogs go the kind of job they do it would be common knowledge has anyone had or know of this turning up in lines out of the blue.I know that there is no solid rules in the genetics of dog breeding. In my own experience if the dam is an 8 monthly cycle so are the pups.has any one bred a litter where the bitches in the litter had differing cycles or had a bitch come into season after six or seven months and then go on to be an eight monthly or yearly bitch. Guest chook
Dont realy understand what it is your asking. A lot of dogs have their first season around the 7/8 month mark, after the first one or two, which can sometimes be irregular, they normaly come in about every 6 month. Every bitch can be different, just like humans - some could be every 6 months some have silent ones or some only every year, when i had 7 entire bitch's living together all came in at the same time, even though there ages were different, and at the start all were having different seasons my current young bitch a deerhound has so far only had one season - when she was 18 months, her siblings have all had their second season, a lot of other things can factor in seasons aswell, diet, stress all can play a part in a bitch's season.
