max abell 196
At least now you have caught a couple now ferreting is very up and down somedays the rabbits will bolt easy and other days they dont want to know make sure you are as quite as you can when netting up try not to talk and be as light footed as you can on top of the holes this does greatly reduce the chance of getting hung up it doesnt stop it compleatly but does help the last 2 times we have been out have been the worse 2 trips since we started at end of august we got hardly any rabbits got hung up on every burrie got more hang ups in 2 trips than all the rest put together since august it was a nightmare and thats after being quite when netting up its just the way ferreting goes good days and not so good uns GOOD LUCK for the rest of the season mate Quote Link to post

mc145 15
They always bolt from the hole you miss. We went out today, thick hedgerows so you always miss an unseen hole, luckily the 12g managed to sort the runners Quote Link to post
longnetter 32
Don't worry too much about numbers mate, you and your ferret are on a learning curve. You did go home with a rabbit AND your ferret after all so it wasn't a complete disaster. Take you time mate, it'll happen for you, I promise Quote Link to post

Is there any surprise you are getting hung up at the end of August, shortly after the third drop? Quote Link to post
