Guest vin
Hows the feet doing lads ? any injuries ? I have been taking it steady, and not really been out much in this deep white snow we've got up north.plenty of walking, but no serious running really. I went down Shropshire other night and it was'nt as thick with snow but the ground was like concrete..it was -6 when i got back in the car. And yes I did check Flint,s and Trigger's dogs for damage and i can honestly say...they were mint...Not a mark on any of them..pads in perfect condition. There was one or 2 lads on the site saying you can't/should'nt be running your dogs hard in this weather...And they gave old Flint some stick for saying otherwise. We'll its a typical horses for courses reply from me. Flint has bred some dogs to do a job of work...simple as that...they were made for this weather and any other type of weather, none of our normal UK lurcher strains are made this way..... .... ..... YET. Quote Link to post
Guest crobinc840
My 1/2 grey 1/4bull 1/4 whippet has always had issues with delicate feet but it's getting much better. Her 1/2 collie pup is hard as stone with no problems at all. Quote Link to post

cocker 2,654
this area has been down to minus 18 3 times just recently, and to be totally honest, this hard ground and cold doesn't cause my salukis any problem at all whatsoever, in fact they thrive on it, from a sporting point of view, they have that much advantage, i wouldn't want to run them on anything just yet.
