£300! price of a good education.....anyone buying a full grown dog without seeing first hand what it can do is just asking for bother. I would never buy a full grown dog from a stranger without seeing what it can do first to many charlatans in this game. Get a pup next time and bring it on yourself.

 

The other thing I found strange is that everywhere else in Britain was frozen solid yet they managed to find ground that was runable....something not quite right here

A dog isn't a rifle, load it, point it, fire it!

The joy of working a good dog is watching it progress and everything falling into place.

Trust and mutual respect are earnt and if you haven't got these then you haven't a hope.

The trail should have been over a set period to really guage a result and let it settle.

Talk of culling dogs on here where anybody can read it is foolish!

For the record, culling the dog for that, is like taking a gun back because you can't shoot straight.

I can,t judge a dog that I,v not seen but any dog with the right training,after bonding with a human they trust, can be encouraged to attack and hold or kill if possible almost any animal found in the UK . I would,nt be to quick to blame the dog.

classic that,some dogs dont do certain quarry end of,no matter how much bonding you do ,you could superglue it to you back ,talking kindly to it for weeks it still wont do some species,its in thier or it aint.

Never said it was ok but this game is full of bullshitters just waiting to part folk from their money. Even if he was naive he surley had folk round about him who could have/should have advised him better. I've been stung as a nipper with bullshit but never again....like I said get a pup bring it on yourself....£300 for a good working dog is cheap....The first question anyone taking on someone elses dog is why are they selling in the first place? Hopefully he wont make the same mistake again.....and I ask again where in Britain was suitable at the time he ran the dog???

I am Shadrack (J. Wilson) and I would just like to clarrify that this has nothing whatsoever to do with me. I have only ever kept coursing dogs - not Bull Crosses. I do not sell or deal in dogs and infact have only sold one dog of running age in the past five years to a mate of mine. Hope this clears up any confusion.
