FAC permission

Recommended Posts

I have had a .22LR for the last 9 years and have had it registered at a farm in Warrington, unfortunatley the farm has changed hands and his son does all the vermin control so does not want anyone else shooting there,I have kept the rabbits and pigeons at bay in all this time so when my cert comes up for renewal next year I will need a new farm in order to renew it.Are there any kind hearted soles out there who can provide me with a new venue,I am 41years old, fully insured and work a spaniel.

Thanks in advance

Failing this,my next question is if I join a gun/target club in order to renew my cert, would this then restrict me to shooting at the club or would I still be able to practice vermin control on any future farm/venues I may find?

Thanks again Derek

If and when join a club condition on your license will changed,it will be target only then if you find land for vermin again you have to apply to change condition or add vermin as well as target. You can not do vermin if only target stated on your licence. Good thing about club is you can have any caliber rifle for target as long as range permitted. I have two rifles .22LR and .308 currently target only. hope this helps

You would be restricted to the club but nothing stopping you knocking on doors for more permission, then if you get one send your signed letter off the landowner to your feo for a land check then hopefully if it's suitable you could be back out shooting asap. Might be worth you joining a club just to keep you guns till you do get some new permission.

I have no restrictions on my current cert but if next time I renew and have to register my rimmy for target shooting they will then add restrictions,or will they?

I'm hoping to find some new land before renewal but if I don't and have to go down the target route,I'm hoping because I have 10 years shooting experience I will be deemed competent to assess my own venues.
