cmondawg 0
I would say like most, dont take the risk. I don't think its all about how you bring them up, it can have an effect yes. but to me its more about the individual dog, Some dogs won't tolerate others and IMO genetics plays a big role. shepp 2,285
I have a lurcher and terrier kennelled together, lurcher refuses to be drawn in if there is the very rare fall out. Quote Link to post
The one 8,469
I kennel mine together but always feed them seperatly and lift the bowls when there finished as i think thats where trouble will start one bump over food and it might kick off Quote Link to post
ReggieCuz 18
I've never taken the risk of kenneling dogs together of any breeding. Not saying you can't trust some dogs to not kick off, but is it worth it if they do kick off and you're not around to stop it? having said that, I know of dogs who have been kenneled together for years with no problems, usually a dog and a bitch together. You can usually trust the dog not to kick off but sometimes the bitch will, in my experience. I had a boxer dog (pig dogs) and a bull/greyhound dog and they were the best of mates on a hunt or on a walk etc, but as soon as you got them home again they'd start sizing each other up. earth&hounds 94
iv got 5 terriers 1 lurcher and there is only one dog i would not kennel with anthing all the other i can swap and change never a problem Quote Link to post
Dunkanon 380
Keep my terrier and one lurcher kenneled together, bitch and dog, they are fine together, sometimes I swap them about and put the terrier in with the other lurcher dog, again no probs (at the moment). I think this stems from the fact that the terrier was almost adult when the lurcher pups have arrived so she has been/is the pack leader also the lurchers are very laid back. Having said that, the youngest lurcher is still a pup and his breeding (5/8grey x 3/8 bull) and early attempts at establishing himself as boss have shown he will end up kenneled on his own. To be honest mate its what suits u, if u have the space then kennel seperately if not, then pair the ones u feel happy to. One thing I would say tho is I wouldnt put more that 2 dogs together (no matter the breed) as if a fight breaks out 2 will more than likely gang up on one. Quote Link to post
