dodgers mum 4 Posted December 10, 2010 Report Share Posted December 10, 2010 didnt know which one to pick,yes a silly woman,i do go out daily with the pups,with full intentions of catching something.I dont just sit and read about others conquests.I put in 100% when i am out,the heart is there but the rabbits aint.When the day comes when my dogs catch a rabbit thats the day i will say i have a working lurcher,and i am a hunter until then i will just keep trying,because i know that day will come and i will be the proudest woman there is to put up a pic on this site of my dogs with their first catch. bird 9,860 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 The way i see it, to work the dog or dogs to the full.You would need a load of time+ money,and if working the time as well . you have put the miles in. to get good bags of rabbits, or if after red coats. As lurchers a getting very popular today, so most owners will want do the same, and i reckon game this last 8 -10 years, as gone right down, to what it was.Many a night i have walked for 5 hours, just to get 8-12 rabbits, and feck me there are lot of lamp shy fox+rabbits about . scalesntails 118 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Share Posted December 13, 2010 At the moment I am working on training my 4 month old pups so if by some huge fluke I don't mess up the training then the dogs will hopefully be catching me rabbits at least 3 or 4 nights a week by the end of next summer. MOO 730 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Share Posted December 31, 2010 I have met lads who have done more than i will ever will, but i also read many of the threads on here and wonder if these folks have ever actually done any form of hunting and purely talk about it based on theories written in books......... do u hunt ?????? i was brought up to hunting,,,,,and i seen lurcher guys ,,,somtimes can be the worst for this,,,,,lev dogs in kennel,,,,too WHEN THEY DECIDE TO GO OUT ,,,,,amazing that ,,,isnt it AND may i might add,,,,LURCHER GUYS LOVE THERE PUPPIES,,,till they grow up,,,then they cant be assed (left in kennel to rott ) ive cutted more rabbits , caught and shot more hares ,,,,than most folk ,,,,killed foxes ,,snared shot or caught,,,,,tooken more roe than most ducks/pheasents/ patrige/ piegeons/ weasels/ stoats/rats///the list goes on and on,,than i care to remeber what lurcher guys do,,,,is change there tools,,,too often,,,when it comes to dogs,,,( they dont give them a chance ) my question to U,,, do u hunt,,,,if so like me ,,,,not as much as i use too,,, but who care,s,,, all the best,,,happy hunting I have offered to take you out with your hounds as you are only 10 mins from me Hopefully in 2011 you come out to play and you can get back in amongst it Quote Link to post Share on other sites
