(hopefully) Billionaire buiseness men dont make decisions like that just to piss people off mate.....he stayed because he would have lost a lot of money,as it turns out his gamble paid off....he could sell the club now and break even but it looks like he,s about to take another gamble and go for a profit....you gotta admire that. You are right gnash this was nothing to do with keeping fans happy it was a pure and simple business decision, football is a world-wide business now.No manager or club is safe from being exploited for money. andy s410c 61
Well another one joins the managerial scrapheap at NUFC however it was'nt the brainwashed, fat, baldy heeded, tattoed covered mob who got the manager the sack...it was the fat cockney owner who thinks NUFC are going to be the force they were in the 90's.Does'nt matter who they get in at that club as long as Billy Bunter's in charge you'll never return to the "glory days" . OK you smashed us 5-1 at Sid Jamses but what i can see coming for you's as the season starts to get difficult is a return to the Championship .The days of clicking your fingers at NUFC & expecting a quality manager to come are long gone...look what happended when you's tried to get Redknapp . Course he would have lost out,he cleared the clubs debts only to see them in the second tier of English football, having sold the club then he would have lost millions.....he stuck with it and now look what they are worth again..... Its like any buiseness its a risk and timing is everything....he,s not a fantastic buisenessman for nothing and now he,s in a great position again,he obviously had faith in his investment and fair play to him....the fact Hughton has now been outed suggests to me he,s playing with a double or quits mentality. lanesra 3,994
Houghton took ALL the flak away from Ashley and they where going along nicely, but id say to anyone WHAT THE FUKC has a Big name manager ever done for Newcastle = N O T H I N G , thats Dalgliesh, Souness, Keegan, Kinnear, ALL exept Kinnear had plenty off Dollar , what i do think is if Sam Alladyce had still been there they would be a really strong team but the fans didnt want him for his style of football , i support Arsenal and believe me when we where winning titles and cups under George Graham , the football wasnt the best but every fan was more than happy, now playin lovely stuff under Wenger but winnin nothin is frustrating for 5 yrs ! cassshantia 16
i personallly think houghton has done a great job and the boss' know that but in football its a business now so he had to go they kept him on to bring the club back to top flight on the cheap by not appointing a big name manager last season and they now will try to lure a half decent manager to try to temp some names in the january window so the new boss can bring in his own players cos chris was never going to be there full time for a year or two not sure how they are going to finance this like but one thing i know what does the fat greedy twat think hes going to achieve this season like ? yes hes got back in the big time but if you dont spend the big slide will come out again i would just of kept chris there this year get settled for mid table then start a fresh next year with him still been on the staff
Lee85 44
Houghton been sacked was f*****g disgrace, the fact the said they need a manager with more experiance is bollox, since he retired he's alwaysbeen on a the bench - coach/assistant at spurs and he did something with ireland so that doesnt figgure, he's a good upcoming english manager who's done nothing but good. now another manager has to come in and get to grips with characters like barton and carrol and a shocked team, good luck with that.
