hullhunter 219
i would say it is a risk starting them to young. i started my 1st lurcher at 6 months but this was because i was to keen as i didnt have a dog to run.that is somthing i would not do again even know i had no problems.but the risks are there. my second lurcher was started at 1 year old. i think if you start them to early you are increasing the risk of injury and the dog not making the grade. but on the other hand my first bitch is a better worker then the rest of her litter that were started at 1year plus. Guest crobinc840
Well sounds like it worked for you. Mines the same mix and 6 months but she's only going to do daytime so she's not going to do any work for a while. She'll just be an observer for now. Quote Link to post

Had her first head to head with a fox at 12 months in the day just out for a mooch. Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
Personally i wouldn't entertain lamping a dog until its 10 months and then depending on the dog, some still can't put their legs together properly even at that age...... Quote Link to post
