Simpson10 50
Everyone talks about dogs being marked up, it all depends on the way they work hard terriers are normally marked up but you cant dig them week in week out and normally need a few weeks rest, a soft terrier (bayer) does get the odd mark but some dont and you can dig them week in week out, both workers have different benifits and it is handy if you can have one of each and dogs given the right healing time can look like they have no marks so unless u know the dog u cant really comment, my dog in the summer doesnt have any marks, doesnt look like a worker but in winter you cant see him for marks Quote Link to post
Tally Ho Hunter 60
both nice dogs Never! judge a book by its cover for the best ground dog ive ever seen was ugly and unmarked and was key tool in over 50 foxes we got to ground 1 year we lost him poaching and never got the chance to breed from him atb. DeanD 3
I gave a dog pup (18 months) to someone that took him to badger and the dog did well but got his jaw broken. Seven weeks later he was put to again, the pup would have nothing to do with it refusing to enter. Maybe just me but I don't think seven weeks is time enough to heal a broken jaw and wouldn't have faulted the pup at all. I never heard what came of the dog afterward, I hope they gave him more time. Simoman 110
The lad never said anything about its working style or claimed it was the next Smithy, he just put a pic up, and a poor pic o how can you tell if the dog has working marks? Quote Link to post
