snoopdog 1,256
You all need to move down south, i drove along a countrylane last night it cant be more than a mile long. First i saw a fallow buck with a massive set of antlers who just stood in the road while i watched him before he casualy walked off. As i turnt road to drive back down ( its a dead end) i saw 4 or 5 roe running around in the field, then as i drove back the huge fallow again and a muntjac. Tried to take a photo of the buck but he moved before i had time. Joecheers joe but i think ill wait to they come north.. ..i will stick with the roe for now unless anybody has seen a muntjac..???? Ray Mears 272
as far as i know they aren't that far north yet, i live near to woburn (some of my hunting land is very near Woburn) , an old local gamekeeper once told me, 12 muntjac escaped from Woburn deer park in the 60's during a thunderstorm that blew a tree over taking down part of an outer wall, from those 12 we have the population that spreads all over the south east as far west as salisbury plains and up into Nottinghamshire now i think there are over 35000 feral muntjac, on a google search wikipedia disputes the escapees from woburn and cites escapees from whipsnade (thats not far from here either) either way there are as mant munties round me as there are rabbits ompo you are wrong about were Muntjac (CWD also) come from the Duke of bedford brought them to this country original and there was a number kept at woburn . Duiring the war a lot of fences were taken down for scrap and the deer were released into the country side that is were al the muntjac in the uk come from . As well as other escapee's over the years upto the 2nd world war . as far as i know they aren't that far north yet, i live near to woburn (some of my hunting land is very near Woburn) , an old local gamekeeper once told me, 12 muntjac escaped from Woburn deer park in the 60's during a thunderstorm that blew a tree over taking down part of an outer wall, from those 12 we have the population that spreads all over the south east as far west as salisbury plains and up into Nottinghamshire now i think there are over 35000 feral muntjac, on a google search wikipedia disputes the escapees from woburn and cites escapees from whipsnade (thats not far from here either) either way there are as mant munties round me as there are rabbits compo you are wrong about were Muntjac (CWD also) come from the Duke of bedford brought them to this country original and there was a number kept at woburn .
