anyone reccomend a decent vet?

hello everyone, im well sick of paying thru the nose at 'theives for vets' i mean 'vets for pets'. buggers charge the earth just to look at your dog then said ill show you how to clean his ears (he had a bit of a sore ear), i said i know how to clean his ears but she carried on then charged me another 20 quid for the priveledge and she barely got anything out as id done it 2 days ago. Also the nice lady vet was asking lots of delving questions about the breeding of my bullx, i told her i wasnt sure.

 

well can aynone reccomend a decent vet for me? dont mind travelling a little, and i aint a cheapskate i dont mind paying fair amounts for good neccessary treatment, just hate being ripped off. cheers all

I've just had my little old dog to the vets they took 7 teeth out under anesthetic, Charged £117 which I didn't think was bad, They charge me £12 for a jill jab

It's called Crookes at Wellgate in Rotherham but I think they've got other vets in sheffield too

Run by one fella called Allen, found him very good, pricing about average, find all vets too expensive, so i wouldn't say he's cheap, but like i said a very good vet, he's the only vet you deal with.

I go to spires in chesterfield, much cheaper than vets 4 pets etc doesnt mess about, couple of ozzy vets in that are spot on, i keep spanials and lurchers and they always say the working ones are the fittest best kept etc (not just mine lol) they dont ask too many questions either, i would highly reccomend. took my lurcher to pdsa as an emergency at 6 in the morning some quite major stitching but they charged over a grand, spires looked at the jobs list the pdsa gave me and said it would have been bout £500.felt proper stitched up

i might be miles out here but id try going up to highgate greyhound track in barnsley and asking the lads round there what vets they use as its not far from sheffield. just a thought tho and might be no use to you
