stoaty 171
cant go wrong with the cheap acme call when you get used to using one you can really bring them in a very underated bit of kit ask cameron on here I gave him my call with the gun and gave him a demonstration how good these calls are Stoaty Edited December 3, 2010 by stoaty Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I have the Acme one, its supposed to be one of the best. Unfortunately, when I use it, it sounds like a demented duck taking it up the rear I just can't get the hang of it Mind you it often gets the maggies circling, never gets em down, they just circle and chatter as if saying "WTF is that row?" stoaty 171
persevere with them phantom their wicked try to roll your tongue when you call (oooer ) .I have had flocks of jackdaws ,crows and rooks coming to forestry circling and landing on top most branches, the din they make is unbelievable great shooting and they also bring in the jays and maggies Stoaty Quote Link to post

rossi_j 99
Me and hunter used a acme crow caller a few weeks ago, use with a deek or two near a sitty tree and get ready to shoot em out the branches ( you can wait for them to come down but we get impatient lol), you could put a couple of eggs with the deeks to realy get some intrest going, just keep still as possible in you chosen hide/bush, or as me and hunter did a pill box made from pallets lol We only call until there is one or two intrested then let them call the rest, also we found making hide in dark first thing, and being hiden from first light works a treat, we seem to get more crows first thing. Also the callers work for foxes too just make it sound like its dieing. .atb mate .ste. Quote Link to post
hunter1989 91
hi buddy yeah me and rossi_j use one and have had some good results when your calling keep the palm of your hand slightly open and blow at diffenrent signals they wook good with rooks crows are hard to call another tip is gut a rabbit and leave that there that will get them coming in atb steve Quote Link to post
nangell 50
the ucaller is a v/good bit of kit ,i find it works very well fetching both crow and magpies for me to take shots of with the camera ,as it illegal to use eletronic callers to fetch birds in to shoot with air rifle, a friend of mine uses it for calling foxes, with v/good results 1 Quote Link to post
mikeyblue 28
I also use the Acme one (or at least i did before my dog chewed it into bits), I tended to put a crow deek out over a slit open bunny and try and call em in. When a crow starts cawing back, I try and copy its tone length etc. works a treat! They probably think why is that fecker repeating what I say and stood statue still!! Mikey. Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
as it illegal to use eletronic callers to fetch birds in to shoot You would be amazed at how many people don't know that little gem of information. SPA for your knowledge Phantom Quote Link to post
