VERY VERY COLD DAY

Recommended Posts

Had a few hours rabbiting Sunday.

Me and Phil on the Long nets, with frozen Furdy on camera.

We started on some large warrens and , as usual, let the two dogs lay back on the rabbits, and hopefully spook them into the nets. It was a bit of a brisk morning, with a temperature of - 4 showing on the truck dashboard plus an icy cold North East wind, that cut right through our clothing taking it down to what must have been -10. The rabbits had been out all night, and were most reluctant to bolt. They knew that to do so would be risky, and no matter how many ferrets we put into the buries, they still wouldn't break for the next warren. It was slow cold work.

And, after a while, we all came to the conclusion that today, the rabbits were the victors, and on spying the woodsmoke trailing skywards, from the chimney of our local hostelry, we decided to give them best,..for now...
