There were car crashes on both sides and a car on it's roof tonight. The road has hardly seen a plough or grit lorry. The approach roads are deadly too. Some councils appear to have got their act together but the4 councils that cover the 55mile stretch should be ashamed of themselves. Someone is gonna end up dead. nakednutt 58 Posted December 1, 2010 Report Share Posted December 1, 2010 if you said the m 8 there then its bear scotland that take to do with it. we got too livingston on monday and were told to head home. i'm working on the forth road bridge just now and they're expecting the site to be shut for another week at least.lads were stuck in north queensferry for 2 days and had to push there motor up the hill today to get home. someone should start selling snow tyres and chains. would be making a fortune just now Quote Link to post Share on other sites

markg 0 Posted December 2, 2010 Report Share Posted December 2, 2010 the goverment say we dont get bad winters every year so why invest in new machines to cope with the snow, but where I live north east, highest point in county durham we do get bad winters most years up here its as if it doesnt snow down south then theres no reason to be concerned about the snow, and we dont complian about it. Missie 1 Posted December 2, 2010 Report Share Posted December 2, 2010 We've only got about 8 inches or so where I live and its compacted down to ice on the smaller side roads and my car has been fantastic. I managed to get to work this morning ok and am fully intending on getting up to do the horse later too. My OH managed to get there up steep hills in his fiesta this morning and they have about a foot up there on the other side of the downs... Quote Link to post Share on other sites
