dont see the point in doin them in snow its not sport at all as i found out for my self the other day fair enough if the snow it just about layering the feilds but doing them in deep snow yah just killing good sporting stock off for when the dog can run them properly.

It was a sin to run them in the summer, it was totally wrong to lamp them and then it was bad to run them in the snow!!! FFS get a grip people, it's the WINTER at least dogs are still getting out, it's not easy for the dogs to run full pelt in the snow either is it.:thumbs:

The best time would be on a nice crisp February morning with a nice little bit of dew on a soft bed of lush green grass,When the suns just coming up over the horizon.

One dog ! one hare ! a good bit of grace to the hare on the slip from his seat ! lets say at least 50 yards...preferably more if you got a good dog.

That's what they used to call...Sporting chance !

I realize that more of the people who run hares in the snow and lamp them don't see anything wrong or unsporting about it, and to them it definatly seems to be more about the kill than the course. But killing four in the snow just means your going to have to do more walking the next day to get one decent run for yourselves. Don't make sense to me

We all no the best times to run em, and snow is far from the best ground for a hare to run on. But the point of this post was to let you no how he got on, give you something to look at? Not asking for an opinion on running in the snow so why comment if its all negative, at least hes getting out and doing it instead of sat on this site all day bigging the dogs up, hes gone out and filled the pot. If u like i'll put some pics up of some daytime without snow with my sandy bitch, or will there be something else to complain about? Get a grip.
