wink hound 0
i use a honda 500 05 reg day in day out(and it gets tested in my line of work), superb machine. i have driven alot of quads of all makes, and would have nothing but a honda by choice, had a few 400 aswell but this new 500 is a real nice drive. there certinally worth the extra money. infact the only one that i thought came remotly close for engineering and feel although was ugly as hell was an Artic Cat, but then again i only drove it for a day. the BIG engines of the yammy and kawasaki seem appealing and are fun to drive,(in a straight line) but how much flat out work do quads need to do?! the honda is agile and nippy with plenty of torgue, the way they should be. cheers wink
JackWilliams 1
Ive ridden a friends "grizzle" the big yamaha, was very good, although to big. The nicest work type i have ridden, are the polaris 500, really nice, although its automatic. And The suzuki King Quad LT-A700X, what a machine!! But for pure fun The Banshee and YFZ -450 are imense. :thumbs-up:
kiwi 4
we have three 500 honda's 2006 models. they get rolled, bowled and arseholed everyday on our steep hill hill country farm and don't miss a beat. 400 foremans are great machines as well. the suzuki's in the bigger engines have res performance but don't have the honda's handling and are hungry on petrol, yammies and kawa's are shit, in nz the honda is king, something like 8 in ten bikes is a honda, and have the most quads per population anywhere in the world. jultaylor1972 2
IMHO I would only ever go for Honda. In my experience they are the most reliable and trustworthy make.
mad al 146
i know nothin about quads but i just wondered about diesel quads??? dad talked about getting a quad about a year ago, he might if he thinks the diesel one is any good... anybody got one?? sorry to bud in!! Polaris used to make a really good one, not really into these as most makes of petrol quads are pretty good on fuel in 4-stroke form. Any quad, if it goes wrong will be a really expensive repair but I should imagine diesel would be even more expensive ...........Al :thumbs-up:
