bobcullen79 1,495
Thanks Lads/Lasses. Stick with me box then. Kinda liked the idea of having the little b*****ds in me coat, keep me warm and one less thing to carry. I guess you cant learn it all from the past. I can imagine a creature springing out of your chest at the worst momment like Alien Lol. And there would be a "worst moment" as I dont have any permission Yet... Quote Link to post
romany52 313
I've used bags for 50 yrs, never squashed a ferret yet. Best bags are made of strong canvas and I put big brass eyelets in for vents, ferrets stay warm and dry in jacket or rucksack. Only use boxes to get there and back in car. That way they spend no longer than necessary in the bags. Edited December 1, 2010 by romany52 Quote Link to post
tonyh 1
Hi All. So,a while back I made a rectangular box, turned out ok,bit of stain, looked pukka. Then I saw the bow backs,so I made one of them with double compartment, could of been a bit better, but it had a bow back and was escape proof. But now after my last outting, the noise of the ferrets scratching in the box done my head in. So would a bag be a better option, what are the pro`s and con`s? Thanks in advance. 9-2 in favuor of boxes, why risk one of your ferrets being squashed.?ATB Quote Link to post

That would be a good reason to not want an obvious box I was toying with the idea of making a cooler bag cover for mine so from a distance it just looks like I'm going to have a picnic Only because my neighbours are so anti I don't want the agro. I'll let you know if it works. Quote Link to post

Guest crobinc840
I put my box inside a thermal bag yesterday and it worked perfectly. I didn't zip it up all the way and there was room around it for air to circulate. A couple of old folks walked right up to me and said it looks like I'm going to have a picnic and I told them I sort of am The ferrets were comfy and not too cold or too hot, not to mention any scraping noises were very muffled(one was scratching the box when the old folks were talking to me) .
