Gaz_1989 9,539
Lol. It sounds like most working stuff will go to ground if it can get down there. My mates sal/whip/grey bitch gets her head, neck and front legs down. I'm sure she would go to ground if she could. What is your staffy like around stock and off lead etc? Is he obedient? I can imagine they bush O.K as they just charge through everything! Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Cricket: Border dam, Whippet sire. Stumpy I call him LOL Not fast enough to catch a rabbit on the run, only about 17 inches, but mental for cover and a very steady and accurate ferreting dog: can't fault him at all out ferreting: even a blind man could tell his mark and he has the patience of a saint when ferreting, which is surprising considering he is totally hyper when bushing. He really is a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde. Quote Link to post
NEWKID 27,047
like that little dog sky cat I am considering putting a whippet with my jrt in the future, she,s performing well ferreting and is as game as they come ( sometimes a little too eager but time will hopefully correct that) she's quite leggy so maybe give her another season or 2 and see how she goes, I've got myself a 3/4 whip 1/4 bed she's around 18" tts now at 6mnths so I hope she's gonna be a bit more of an alrounder as far as rabbits are cocerned , lamping and ferreting + a bit of daytime mooching with the jrt. Brunty, your dogs are looking good mate, my 2 + my brother 1st cross beddy whip pup the beddy sire to this pup was one cracking dog and worked hard. Quote Link to post

shepp 2,285
If you want a bushing dog then I wouldn't get a small lurcher on the off chance that it might work cover. Horses for courses mate. Quote Link to post
