Ferret Andy 1
Nice pics mate! With regards to smoking, does it really make a difference? I'm a smoker too, but the way I look at it is If theres a ferret chasing your arse out of the warren, is somebody smoking topside going to stop you? Thanks, Andy. Quote Link to post
The one 8,545
Id be more worried about missing a bolt hole in the leaves or snow than smoking Quote Link to post

blackpack 70
cheers for the comments, never been a problem with smoking over warrens bud, as long as noise on top is at a minimun Quote Link to post
stevethefish 80
When I was younger I did a lot of poaching, yes really but I was very good at it, not proud of it now but that was in the past. I often went with mates on some of the big estates in and around sheffield/derbyshire areas and never got caught except one day when one of the lads was smoking. The keeper was ok considering and he said that it was that what gave us away, he smelt the smoke from 200 yards away, he also told us that rabbits would be reluctant to bolt if they smelt or heard anything out of the ordinary. I now can believe that after a lot more years of experience and we have a policy of waiting untill we have completed a set before anyone sparks up. Well that applies to all apart from Ray! we make him smoke underground now. Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Noise i understand. . . .. the noise of someone talking. But picture this rabbit says 'f**k me thats a regal super king. . . . .. . i aint going out there - bound to be ferreters ahoy!' they dont however have a problem venturing out when they have been chased to ground by a huge dog or there are shotguns cracking off above. . . . . .and just imagine how loud your steps sound in this frost. Unless the wind blows down the holes i dont think thats going to be the biggest problem you got! 1 Quote Link to post
