deerhound x greyhound 1stx

i want peoples thoughts on the first x deerhound greyhound ive had this breed for 20 years from the same breeder and its done very well indeed on all quarry please no bitching ive just joined this site and already people slaging each other of for nowt its ureal genuine dog people please comments will be most welcome

imho they can be a very handy breed indeed mate only thing ive found from the ones ive seen they take alot longer than most longdogs and lurchers to mature, i do favor the more racey type to the big cloddy type but its each to there own, the ones ive seen were good at there job and had taken all game ( pre ban ) its the same old saying " horses for corses " it all depends on the game and ground you are running,

bill docherty bred some very handy dog of this type

i think it used 2 be doxhope hounds could be wrong but i dont think he is breeding them now thanks

your right mate bill's stock was doxhope deerhounds and i think they still produce a few litters, they use to be the racey type but not seen any for a while from hes kennels, if you are on the fens then cant see why there shound be a problem with this tpye of x, alot of people favour the saluki x for the ground you are running but each to there own,

my bitch is out of doxhope lines (trever cook) and the dog i run out of platts x doxhope lines,and the doxhope lines are still on going ,as for origanal question good x i think most deehound x make handy dogs

no problem with the dog mate just wanted two no whot they thought of them as ive never had any problems even when liveing up north were im from these dogs served me well..good luck

good to see a decent dh gh post.untill the bitching starts lol.got 3 of this cross doing well.bred my dog and bitch six pups dont have contact number of lad from edinburgh but the five pups i no off doing well indead.think the prob starts when people see the size and height of this cross.mines pleaseing me and others so that will do for me atb asha

the bitch ive got at the moment is only 27tts never had one over 27and half from dave very loyal dogs mate good look two mate

dog is 30 tts bitch is 28 tts bitch pup26 good size for me would like to keep pups of this size.hopefuly the grew x first cross dhgh pups bring the size down but who knows atb asha
