they themselves would bring in some nice birds to see

yeh your right mate, its half the reason they visit my garden, especially in breeding season, theres always cock chaffys goldies and siskins trying to get in my aviaries after the hens,as for spare birds ive only got a few chaffy hens spare, ive decided to keep a few more on this year and ive inherited some of my uncles stock,so i aint got rid of many, its all part of the masterplan mate,im going to breed 3 times as many next year, its hard work but well worth it,let me know what you want for next year and il sort you out at mates rates

 i will be after some goldies bullies greenies anything really

I noticed some [ for want of a better word ] foreign poop in the chicken pen this morning. It was about the size and shape of a piece of pet coke; kinda oval. Dark and fibrous. I wondered if it might be from a badger ? Anyone know ?

an owl pellet,just a guess,

can a badger get in the coup? :hmm:

I never thought of an owl, but i bet you're right because i have seen a couple hereabouts. It wasn't in the cabin itself, just the outer pen which is usually open at night. The birds are secure in their coop then.

Saw a sparrow hawk take a blackie and drop near to the bushes, I ran over and the sparrow hawk flew off and left the blackie fluttering about on the grass, then a cat ran out from the bushes and took the blackie..just wasnt that blackbirds day..

for the last 3 yrs we have had foxes breeding and living in the garden(under a unit). Till they drove the lurchers to despare sitting outside the dog runs looking at them!! Even found a cub floating in the pond face down after trying to drink, and fell in.. had the odd roe deer walk through. Also rabbits, badger, sparrowhawks, buzzards, nuthatch, peckers, siskins, bullfinch, etc....
